ABSTRACT

The author remember the days of clutching my science curriculum in one hand while trying to write on the board with the other. Always casting glances at the script. It was not lack of preparation but lack of confidence that haunted me. The author thought the curriculum materials said it best, so rather than exerting ownership of the lesson, The author adopt the curriculum writers' language as the own. The author tried to render it in natural speech, but as anyone who has ever taught this way knows, if one haven't thought something through the own words, they will sound contrived and fake. The consequence of students will more likely tune out or lose interest, and one will look less authentic. No matter how well prepared they may be, if the words don't match them and theirs personality, the students will be less inclined to invest their time in the lesson.
