ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 is the chapter dealing with demurrage. It starts with its meaning and nature, followed by the length and end of demurrage, then the rate and payment of demurrage, a section on container demurrage and damages in addition to demurrage, mitigation and proof of loss, exceptions clauses and demurrage, half rate demurrage, notices of readiness, periods of notice, and commencement of demurrage. After that, the chapter turns to tanker warranties, the effect of deviation on demurrage and the end of demurrage. The final part of the chapter deals with liability for demurrage and finally demurrage time bars.
