ABSTRACT

The review of contemporary research in sport analytics begins with works in the field of performance. This chapter analysis views reflecting the more traditional interpretation of the sport analytics framework pertaining to efficacy in organization and management. It summarizes the both aspects of research and attempt to outline a common structure of contemporary sport analytics. Each forecasting prognosis in sport games is a predictive 'data-adaptive' model, which among other pieces of information also includes an important analytics element. In forecasting, complicated predictive models use various statistical methods and contemporary machine-oriented techniques, such as networks, are usually based on relatively simple raw data. Many sport sciences traditionally provide assistance by consulting these sides of performance. Such procedures encompass medico-biological and psychological diagnostics, fitness and skill testing, motion and performance analysis and sports informatics. Analytics in sport organizations is a relative newcomer in comparison to other instances of the symbiosis between management and analytics.
