ABSTRACT

Universities have faced increasing pressure to be more agile and adaptive (Middlehurst 2013). This has created a ripple effect through the various institutional levels, as new initiatives are implemented, leaders are recruited to lead reforms and the systems and processes underpinning university practices are reviewed and scrutinised with increased vigour. The quest to find better and different ways to deliver outcomes has driven many changes that have profoundly impacted how universities function and the ways in which different academic and service groups operate.
