ABSTRACT
177 Primitive to Performative highlights the interactions and exchanges between material systems and the local environment. Materials such as bamboo and earth have the capacity to react to and modulate climatic conditions, such as airflow, humidity, and temperature. The case studies in this chapter demonstrate how local resources can be mobilized in response to certain climatic conditions.
