ABSTRACT

THE real difference between free cultures and cultures pervaded by the principle of servitude and bondage is determined by whether they are constituted for the avoidance of crises, their prevention, and their alleviation; or whether their charter aims at the preparation of crises. Such latter communities at times thrive through such self-prepared crises, and use them as the means to the end of establishing more power for the rulers through discipline, bondage and slavery.
