ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we explore an important distinction between interpretation (explanation of a third-party perspective in terms of your beliefs) and explication (explanation of a third-party perspective by way of its own objectivity), which is common in philosophy. What we call “religion” in our world is what cannot be derived from Eurocentric interpretation: the West. Hinduism is different from other religions: while other obvious examples are kinds, Hinduism is a class continuous with the disagreements of philosophy.
