ABSTRACT

Sutter had its attorneys develop a collaborative contract which came to be known as an Integrated Form of Agreement. Work experiences are reviewed by each team daily and lessons learned are identified and implemented. An outstanding feature of the Van Ness and Geary Campus project team was its commitment to shared goals, the potential to change and improve, and to continuous improvement. On a project such as this, there is constant change and this is managed through a deep commitment to planning and continuously learning from experience on a daily basis. Once the overall flow is established, trade contractors map their own installation process and identify all the important steps. Once mapped, each step is reviewed to make sure that all quality expectations specified in the project documents are built into the installation process. One of the challenges the team faced early in the project pertained to treating the model as a construction document before it was released for construction.
