ABSTRACT

Large sophisticated multipurpose buildings are among the most complex products made by mankind. A concerted effort to understand customer pain points beyond the frame and further investment in product development resulted in a modular Kit-of-Parts for pipe rack structures that can be assembled in hours vs a week or more if built conventionally. In addition to standard framing members, modular accessories such as handrails, ladders, stairs, modular access platforms and innovative safety-related devices to assist in hoisting and fall-protection are now offered. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) can be installed below floors through pre-cut penetrations in the wide-flange beams. ConXtech coordinates with the MEP trades throughout their design process in order to automate and pre-drill or cut ConX beams to accommodate their on-site work. The ConXtech frame is achieved with higher levels of accuracy than timber and concrete construction can offer, creating the potential for efficient prefabrication in the other building subsystems.
