ABSTRACT

In the space available any attempt to explain such an interwoven system would be quite impossible, even if I were competent to undertake it. What follows, therefore, must necessarily be a simplified account of Coherence, made as little misleading as I know how, which may be sufficient to give some idea of its merits and demerits as a theory of truth. Readers who having tasted the ersatz product thereafter thirst for the pure milk of the word should turn to the authorities referred to at the beginning of the previous chapter.
