ABSTRACT
Presents and discusses methods for qualitative data analysis and explains the rationale for selecting appropriate analysis methods. It elaborates on each method, highlighting the decision to be made during the process of engaging with the data. It illustrates selected methods, such as thematic and qualitative content analysis, and conversation and interaction analysis. Approaches to interpreting qualitative data are complemented by explanations of how analysis techniques can be employed by using traditional methods and software to enable systematic analysis and documentation. The chapter finally addresses aspects of quality criteria and interpreting findings generated through analysis of qualitative data.
