ABSTRACT

The first person who read the unfinished manuscript of this book asked me only one question: ‘For whom are you writing this?’ This person, first, is a significant figure in the theatre world, and, second, he is well disposed towards me. I recognised the ambiguous depth of this question but tried not to think about it until the end of the work. I understood then, and today I understand even better, that I am writing this text into the emptiness, or maybe the opposite, into the imaginary thicket of thoughts, ideas, views and preferences, that have become of our habitual world and our small theatre world over the last couple of decades.
