ABSTRACT

This chapter contains a wide variety of rich literature from before the war and was designed to give soldiers entertainment. It presents the Herrick's poem: Corinna's Going A-Maying; To Blossoms; To Meddowes; To Anthea, Who May Command Him Any Thing; and Grace for a Child. In the Corinna's Going A-Maying the Herrick is trying to get a woman out of bed. Corinna is not just about celebrating May Day. Sure, it's important to attend local dances around the city maypole, it is also advocating a whole new way of life, one that prizes nature, community, and physical pleasure. In the To blossom, it reflects the fate/destiny of all living things. every single soul on the planet earth has got a very short span of time to bloom like the blossoms and then they are destined to wither away. Thus, everything on this planet is temporary.
