ABSTRACT

A certain man had two sons: and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: and sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
