ABSTRACT
A native of Fenghua, Zhejiang, Zhang Ye was born in Shanghai. Since her graduation from the Chinese Department of Shanghai University in the early 1980s. Her publications include A Poet's Love, A Colorful World, and A Green Crown. About poetry Zhang says, 'Poetry must have depth, breadth, and energy' See A Poet's Love. Endurance is a kind of invisible sacrifice only silence in protest makes it sacred but those capable of this experience are souls of painful endurance. Unlike a wounded lion you cannot wildly jump and pounce unlike the storm-thrashed sea you cannot raise a heart-stopping roar. Fated to be drawn by your seductive power I shall seek you till I die a soul obsessed by passion I've. Tree limbs cut my line of vision into golden shreds floating down their tips. Gossip is like a flock of woodpeckers pecking my hearts miling lips make pale pink hooks that pierce my trembling eyelidsah.
