ABSTRACT
We will now move to the period around 1670 to navigate the Mozambique Canal, the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, and the west coast of India. This was a time of depression across the Arabian seas. Yet—and this will be the main theme of this chapter—the ports on the Arabian seas weathered this harsh economic climate very differently.
