ABSTRACT
Standards addressing the responsible and ethical conduct of attorneys have been articulated by the American Bar Association. Standards of performance, however—benchmarks that would aid a city attorney, mayor, city manager, council member, or citizen wishing to assess the performance of the city attorney’s office—are more elusive.
