ABSTRACT
I’m afraid that very few people who are not Hunanese know anything about what Hunan is really like under the Provincial Constitution. A detailed description of its politics, economics, culture, and education, as well as of the labor movement that has recently arisen there, would require more than just a short essay. A brief general outline follows.
