ABSTRACT

Motorola considers education to be an employee right as well as a responsibility. Every Motorola employee, regardless of nationality or location, must complete at least forty hours of training a year. This educational requirement usually takes place through Motorola University, which is probably the best known and most widely benchmarked corporate university in the world. Motorola University is a worldwide system of business training divided into four regions: Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific. Each region has a director and a team of training design and delivery experts at various sites in twenty countries. Each regional delivery center directs customer interfaces, delivers programs and services (including Six Sigma and other business training for external customer organizations), and provides consulting for customers on performance improvement and organizational learning.
