ABSTRACT
Chinese emperor, the second ruler of the Qing dynasty, whose reign of 61 years (1661–1722) is the longest in Chinese history. An outstanding administrator and military leader, he is considered one of the greatest emperors of the Qing period. Under his rule, China expanded its borders and entered a period of peace and prosperity that continued for more than a century.
