ABSTRACT
This is too revolutionary to be accepted without criticism. While we are waiting for confirmation, we shall take the intermediate position of an initial settlement during the first or second phase of the Wisconsin glaciation (about 70,000 or 50,000 years ago, respectively). This would correspond to the first wave of settlers, who set out from central-eastern Asia and probably from southeastern Asia.
