ABSTRACT

No apology is needed for the publication of this booklet. Slowly, it may be, but surely, the public are beginning to see what not a few earnest thinkers are strongly convinced of, viz., that in Henry George we have a Columbus in social science and political economy. 1 Deeply inspired with this belief, I have performed this small labor of love, in the hope that a sketch of the life and work of Mr. George will help the students of the great economist’s writings to a better knowledge of and greater faith in the man, and lead many who have not studied his writings at all to do so, from the admiration they may be induced to feel for the remarkable personality of their author.
