Humans cannot survive without freshwater. The average adult male body is 65 percent water; the adult female body is 58 percent water; and a newborn baby’s is 77 percent water. Different parts of the body have varying water levels. Bones contain 22 percent water, fat has approximately 25 percent, muscle contains up to 76 percent, and blood contains 83 percent. The human brain is made of 74 percent water.
