ABSTRACT

As was indicated in chapters 5 and 11, exporting, particularly the indirect exporting channel, is the market entry method used most frequently by managers engaging in international marketing for the first time. Exporting is also an important method of doing business for many managers who have been involved internationally for long periods of time. Although exporting is the market entry method that minimizes risk, important risks still exist that must be appreciated and effectively managed to be successful. Therefore, an understanding of the nature of exporting relationships, the kinds of perils involved, and the export process are essential.
