ABSTRACT
It must be stressed that an appraisal is an estimate or opinion. Business valuation is not an exact science. Instead, it might be called an art because a certain amount of judgment must be used in conjunction with the mathematical principles. The techniques learned in this chapter should help the entrepreneur to use judgment to separate the relevant information from the irrelevant.
