ABSTRACT
This section of the encyclopedia examines non-European ethnic movements that have taken place in the United States since the 1970s, as well as the senior citizens and disabled movements of latetwentieth-century America. Although these movements are dissimilar, they all emerged from the civil rights movement of the 1960s and 1970s, and continue to press for equality and redress of historical grievances.
