The Sui-shu ching-chi chih l)lf~~*i~ gives six chiian and gives no author's name. The T'ang-shu i-wen chih ~:;:~X~ also gives six chiian and attributes it to Pan Ku. The Ch 'ung-wen Isung-mu *X~ § gives ten chiian with fourteen chapters. The Chih-chai shu-lu chieh-I 'i rnrlt:;:~mJm also makes it ten chiian, but in forty-four sections. According to the Ssu-k 'u I'i-yao, the four chiian edition derives from that of Liu Shih-ch'ang ;U1!t1f; (SKTY 3:2468-69). Liu lived around 1300 (cf. the preface of Chang Chieh in Jap-Sin III, 8). It is to be noted that our edition, though divided into forty-four sections, consists of only two chiian. In this, it differs from the above mentioned editions.
