ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the autobiography of Carolina Maria de Jesus, nicknamed Bitita. Carolina went to work for Dona Maria Amelia, Totonho Rasa's daughter, Mr. Roberto Junqueira's wife. Dr. Carlos Signareli began to treat the little girl, Nilza, who was affected by meningitis. Carolina was Nilza's nurse. Maria Amelia's mother fired Carolina, because did not like her. When Carolina left that house, Carolina and her mother rented a room in Dona Narcisa's house. To her unhappiness, Carolina got sick. And Mr. Arnulfo de Lima came in, looked at Carolina, and said to her, "So, it's really you". He said that he was sleeping in his house and my spirit went to ask him for help, a mattress and a doctor to examine her. Mr. Arnulfo de Lima was the owner of a Spiritualist center. Carolina does not understand mystery of going to look for the medium Arnulfo de Lima. But Carolina prayed for him to be happy.
