ABSTRACT

This chapter is about a versatile, cross-curricular spy school project, designed initially for year 6 children; it was trialled with two year 5 classes in a South Gloucestershire primary school but could be adapted to suit a younger class. The project was taught over four hour-long lessons and led to a virtual day trip to Paris in the school hall. Inevitably, the teaching was quite concentrated; however, it could be extended to form a term’s teaching and might also be an excellent Bridging Unit between key stages 2 and 3. Key stage 3 teachers might consider teaching this unit to lead to a virtual Paris trip.
