ABSTRACT
T he term learning can be applied to : (i) the learning of verbal or any sensory m aterial, e.g., the succession o f sounds in a tu n e ; and (2) the learning of m uscular skills, such as typew riting or driving a golf ball. W e shall consider these separately, though as we shall see there are some resemblances between them .
