ABSTRACT
The phenomenon of cartels is the target of Article 101 TFEU. Cartels or cartel-like behaviour involves fi rms who should be competing with each other actually agreeing to restrict competition in a way that is mutually benefi cial to those fi rms, but puts consumers in a less advantageous position than they would otherwise be. Since the development of the modern law of competition, cartels have been one of its main targets.
