ABSTRACT
Literary study is the extended or macroscopic literary criticism. As a kind of theory, Marxism has summarized the latest scientific achievements since the nineteenth century and the cultural accumulation of human beings, and provided new outlooks on the world, life and values and new methodologies for people to know and change the world. It was in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century that Marxism was introduced into China. Mao Zedong said, "It is the Russian October Revolution of 1917 that introduced Marxism and Leninism into China". The left-wing literature and art arose in early 1930s, when Lu Xun had shifted into the Marxist camp and Qu Qiubai, one of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leaders, dwelt in Lu's house for a period. The triumph of the people's revolution turned the Chinese Communist Party into the ruling party and thus created an unprecedentedly favorable condition for the spreading of Marxism in China.
