ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book outlines the history and development of Circles and looked at how they currently fit with the statutory arrangements that they form a part of including the recent large-scale transitions to the private sector. The research has involved the interviewing of all the participants in a series of Circles project as well as the Core Members who are at the centre of them. The book will summarises the key findings from our research and highlights a number of difficulties and problems that mainly result from the highly fraught environment in which Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) operates and the conflicting demands that are imposed on its work. Finally it concludes that CoSA is well prepared for the changes in this landscape which lie ahead.
