ABSTRACT

I shall treat these two topics in order, dealing first with Marx’s ideas about revolution and then with his ideas on communism. However, even taken together these two topics do not exhaust Marx’s political concerns. As I will hope to show, many of Marx’s other political ideas – especially those concerned with classes and with the state – can best be understood within the context of his commitment to revolution and communism. But none the less this context does not embrace all the other dimensions of his political thought.
