ABSTRACT
Balint is above all known for his work in the medical sphere, and in particular the training of general practitioners. Balint group became the generic term to refer to ‘talking’ groups of professionals centred on the patient–caregiver relationship, whatever their practice. Since 1974 there has been an International Balint Federation gathering some forty national associations. 1
