ABSTRACT
Test items were collected from test banks associated with college textbooks in many fields. These include business (15 items), health sciences (23 items), statistics (19 items), sciences (20 items) and social sciences (39 items). Some of the items in this chapter were provided by instructors using Proola, by the authors and faculty colleagues, but many were obtained from college textbook test banks and reproduced with permission as noted. In addition to the growing item banks in Proola, there is a growing number of sites to explore. The chapter provides a small sample of those sites, including a brief description of what can be found at each. It also provides a cautionary note on the wide availability of online sharing and social networking sites. Expert item writers recognize that item writing is a collaborative process and depend on strong editing and item review procedures to ensure their efforts are maximized.
