ABSTRACT

Ocular-motor apraxia (OMA) is a disorder of horizontal voluntary movements of the eyes, in which patients are unable to direct their gaze as desired, although a full, random and involuntary range of movement exists. Apraxia, as opposed to dyspraxia, is used in this context merely because it is the term that has become established in the literature; it does not necessarily imply a complete absence of willed movement. An acquired and a congenital form have been described.
