ABSTRACT

The concept of infrageographies of globalization has been presented as a propositional socio-spatial praxis for apprehending a greater spectrum of globalization, which also crucially involves a more enabling view of political agency. A key research aim of this book has been to reclaim globalization as a catalytic concept and practice with emancipatory grassroots potential and enactments, a project of multiple pathways recognizing the coproduction of reality by more autonomous subjects. Within this broad research aim, I have sought to develop infraglobalization as a heuristic that renders a sub rosa socio-spatial ordering of reality with layered depth and global breadth, in which people are recognized as creative and capacious agents. In this short concluding chapter I draw out the principal elements from the research trajectory of this book, and both summarize and offer reflections. This research also suggests a number of potential lines of further enquiry.
