Mattel Toys, Inc. (MTI) engaged Sindik Olson Associates (SOA) to develop a facility master plan for its Worldwide Headquarters in July 1989. SOA's database development process was so effective that senior management engaged SOA following the completion of the headquarters relocation project to maintain the database and tie it to an in-house facility management space tracking system. The MTI Worldwide Headquarters consists of corporate offices, a design and development (D & D) office and facility support space. Master Planning Process for Mattel Toys Worldwide Headquarters is familiarization, evaluation, recommendations and implementation. The design firm's space plans were reviewed for conformance to MTI's goals and objectives, space requirement database, and operational requirements. SOA verified that functional and adjacency issues were satisfied and that omissions and inconsistencies were documented. SOA provided assistance in resolving program compliance issues early in the design process. SOA developed space plans for all Design Center industrial space.
