ABSTRACT

The chapter discusses communication between human beings and supernatural beings. It is shown that in both polytheistic and monotheistic cultures the human world and the world of divine beings are closely intertwined and woven into the fabric of mythos. Special attention is paid to the ‘God-problem’ in communication theory, including the studies of experiencing (the word of) god(s), spreading the word of god(s) and listening to the word of god(s).
