Problems for investigation

The close link between the memory and the figurative or semiotic mechanisms brings us to the central problem of the conservation of memories, and hence of the memory 'traces' involved in recognition or recall, i.e. of the non-observable mnemonic processes situated in the black box O(IT) of Figure 1. This problem calls for a closer examination of the different types of conservation mentioned in §1.
