ABSTRACT
A complex sentence consists of two or more clauses. The clauses contained in a complex sentence are relatively independent; they are components of the complex sentence. Compare the following two examples:
(1) wǔhàn hěn rè, chángshā yě hěn rè. Wuhan very hot, Changsha also very hot. ‘Wuhan is very hot, and so is Changsha’.
