ABSTRACT
Techniques and tips are offered in this chapter for successful surround sound recording and mixing of orchestra and other ensembles. Discussions describe stage setups for optimizing a recording for multi-channel presentation, and how a recording can be managed for a successful outcome in both stereo and surround sound. Generating a stereo and surround mix simultaneously as a time-saving strategy is also presented.
