ABSTRACT

The aperture in the lens controls the intensity of light reaching the camera sensor just as the pupil in the human eye can adjust its size to allow more or less light to reach the retina.

The larger the aperture, the brighter the light. The apertures are called ‘f stops’. The larger the ‘f-number’, the smaller the aperture.
