ABSTRACT

Jennifer has had a very busy week at work. She plans to spend all day Sunday working on a major paper that is due on Monday. She looks at the assignment for the first time Sunday morning and finds the assignment confusing. She sends an e-mail to her professor saying “Hi. I started the assignment and am lost. Can you help? She is relieved to see a response in her inbox a few hours later, but when she opens the e-mail she finds the professor has only responded with questions about which assignment she needs help with and asking her to explain with which part of the assignment she is having difficulty. Instead of getting the information she needs, Jennifer has missed an opportunity to get the information she needs before the assignment is due.
