Predators devoured neither your cave-dwelling ancestors nor mine, at least not until after they had reproduced. Predators killed many prehistoric people, but why not our ancestors? Because our ancestors knew how to get away. The natural selection process refi ned this ability over hundreds of thousands of years, and our ancestors passed it on to us.
