Classroom Course—If you are completing Laboratory #13 in a classroom setting, you can use a bottle placed in a paper bag as a sample for the laboratory exercise. If you have access to other types of glass, such as tempered, you should be able to analyze the marks on the side of the glass in order to determine the direction of breakage.
