ABSTRACT

The trial is the final stage of the case, when all of the evidence, photographs, sketches, lab reports, and identifications are compiled to assist the prosecutor with assigning charges and preparing for trial. Each of the steps involved with forensic processing is necessary; however, if the reports are not written properly, they cannot be used at trial. At the trial stage, you move from a forensic scientist or crime scene technician to an expert witness who must provide testimony in a courtroom in front of a judge and jury.
