ABSTRACT

A few years ago, one of the authors attended a curriculum building session on community policing at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia. Several practitioners and a few scholars met to develop a trainthe-trainer program that FLETC could take on the road to encourage the spread of community policing in rural and small-town America. The first edition of this book was inspired by the group that met and the enthusiasm and wisdom they brought to the session; this second edition is a tribute to the eventual success of the community policing movement across the United States.
