ABSTRACT The many facets of police work require a good working knowledge of photographic principles to properly capture quality images that may aid in the investigation and prosecution of crimes. Exposure involves using the inner workings of light, intensity of light, shutter speed, aperture, and lens to achieve a photographic image that is useful. In addition, a working knowledge of depth of field will help the photographer capture crisp details in the image or keep the focus on a particular item within the photograph.
